About Ô Films

Ô Films is a Montreal-based production company founded by Sophie Ricard-Harvey and Charlotte Beaudoin-Poisson, which specializes in developing and producing projects by filmmakers whose vision stands out locally and internationally.

Charlotte and Sophie are two passionate producers whose expertise and efficiency are shaped by their complementarity. A refreshing and daring duo that does not hesitate to embrace sensitive and original content. Their cinema is one of heart, laughter and depth.

Collaborating with Ô Films means surrounding yourself with a team who will base each production on communication and openness. It’s  ensuring that all stages of creation are taken care of with thoroughness and precision. That the support is provided from the first details of the script construction to the release of the film. That the hard work of each and every day will be sprinkled with clever improvisations and uncontrollable bouts of laughter.  It is knowing that not only will quality guide production, but that the path to achieving it will be imbued with authenticity and humanity.

Charlotte Beaudoin-Poisson

Producer

For Charlotte, cinema is the most beautiful form of expression. Cinema is about allowing yourself to travel, to discover other cultures, to reflect, to dissect human behavior, but above all, to experience emotions. Each project fills her constant curiosity and her desire to accompany the creative process with sensitivity and boldness.

Graduated from UQAM (Stratégie de production culturelle et médiatique) and from INIS (Cinema Production 2014), Charlotte has been working in the audiovisual industry for nearly ten years. After having worked several years for the production company Max Films Media, she now develops projects and produces at Ô Films, a company that she co-founded with Sophie Ricard-Harvey in 2015. Charlotte also carries out contracts as delegate producer and production manager in cinema and television.

Sophie Ricard-Harvey

Producer

After graduating in business administration, Sophie Ricard-Harvey decided to follow her passion and pursue a career in film production. She worked as a freelancer for a while before completing a training program at INIS (Cinema Production 2014). She then worked as Roger Frappier’s assistant at Max Films and in parallel, she founded her own production company (Ô Films) with her business partner Charlotte Beaudoin-Poisson. Since then, Sophie has devoted herself full time to Ô Films, where she has had the privilege of supporting numerous filmmakers whose talent is recognized both here and abroad. Frimas by Marianne Farley is her most recent production.

For Sophie, cinema is the ideal art form to enhance the full and incessant creativity of human beings. The universe, both complex and unique, of each filmmaker continually fascinates her. Every project she collaborates on not only allows her to acquire new knowledge, but also pushes her to renew herself as a producer and as a person. To ensure the well-being of her collaborators and team Sophie is a great proponent of open communication and active listening.
